Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel

creative role:
creative development, design, editorial, motion graphics, sound design, visual effects, vfx, concept, animation

Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel is her love letter to Nashville, the city that helped shape her extraordinary career as a songwriter and storyteller. As Dolly’s first and only commercial property in Nashville, the hotel is also home to the largest Dolly Parton museum in the world, celebrating the songs, stories, and remarkable legacy she created over a lifetime.

Ballast was deeply honored to be part of bringing that story to life through a custom video installation created for the hotel’s Greeting Lobby and Elevator Lobbies. The centerpiece is an immersive seven-monitor experience in the main lobby, complemented by coordinated single-screen installations throughout the elevator areas.

Through editorial, motion design, archival imagery, and carefully crafted visual storytelling, the experience celebrates Dolly’s songwriting legacy and invites guests into the stories behind the music from the moment they arrive. It was an incredible privilege to contribute to a project so personal to Dolly and to help honor the words, music, and stories that have connected her to Nashville and generations of fans around the world.

"Dolly Parton’s brand-new SongTeller Hotel give fans a place to walk the Rhinestone Trail and remember a woman who made an entire city feel like family."
