Room For Change
creative role:
motion graphics, illustration, graphics package, main title, animation, design
For the HBO Max pilot of Room For Change, Ballast crafted a graphics package that reflects the vibrant energy of NYC designer Mike Harrison and the show's focus on low-budget renovations in unique spaces—think charming Broadway dressing rooms that can barely fit a coat rack.
With a sleek black-and-white aesthetic, our title sequence is crisp and engaging, while animated overlays for space reveals and Mike's tips keep the narrative flowing—like an espresso shot that energizes without overwhelming.
The lower thirds strike a polished yet friendly tone, and our transitions blend blueprints and cityscapes, maintaining visual interest without stealing the spotlight.
In short, Ballast’s graphics package is like a well-curated New York apartment: stylish, functional, and delightfully eclectic, proving that even the tiniest spaces can have big changes—because in NYC, if you can fit a couch, you can fit a transformation!
