Pyscho The Lost Tapes of Ed Gein
graphics package, design, main title, motion graphics
We teamed up with award-winning true crime producer and director James Buddy Day and his team at Pyramid Productions to design the gritty and gory graphics package for their latest documentary series that dives deep into the life and crimes of the infamous killer that became the inspiration of Alfred Hitchcock's cultural phenom, Psycho.
Pyramid Productions liked our concept so much they decided to ping Ballast to redesign their company logo and animation to match the series.
For years, filmmakers, journalists, and scholars have tried to unravel the mind of this notorious killer, and with new reveals and never-before-heard recordings, viewers will be transported to late-1950s Middle America and submerged in Gein’s perverse mind. The series explores Gein’s upbringing and twisted relationship with his mother, his early grave robbing, the murders leading up to his arrest, and the police’s discovery of his terrifying house of horrors—all accompanied by the brand-new revelations revealed in the recordings.
